It's Been Awhile

It's been quite some time since I posted anything. Part of the reason is that when our computer crashed, all of my programs were saved but the settings were a bit messed up.

I've been trying off and on to make a header and it wouldn't show up. And the other reason - plain laziness...I can not tell a lie.

I'm glad that tomorrow is Saturday, and I'll be playing around with my Cricut and DH also bought me a "Cuttlebug." It embosses paper and I can't wait to try it out.

Hard to believe that it's almost March..time to decorate for St Patrick's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hard to believe it's February let alone Valentine's Day, isn't it?

I'll show you a few of my Valentine's decorations in our home.

I got this frame from Goodwill and added some scrapbook paper and embellishments.

I love mercury glass so I had to keep my Christmas bowl out and added some Valentine ornaments that I got from Hobby Lobby.

Even though it keeps snowing (we got 4 more inches yesterday with a possible 1-2 more today) I'm thinking and decorating for spring.

I got this terrarium last year at a thrift store and the table runner from Etsy.

And just a few cute Valentine cards I found..

Do you have big plans for today? Today's is Ashley's 20th birthday, so we'll attempt to venture out and eat lunch someplace and see a movie.
What would Valentine's Day without some cards that include kitties?

Happy Valentine's Day!
and Happy Birthday Ashley!

My Shabby Sign Makeover

I've been watching for picture frames at Goodwill.
(You just never know when you'll see somebodies blog and want to copy them.)

First qualification - it needs to be cheap.
Second qualification - character.

Here's one of the frames I recently changed.

Really not a bad picture, just doesn't fit into the look I'm trying to achieve.

I kind of felt guilty taking it apart.

And I found this "Relax" plaque at Goodwill for $1 - another green item!

A little spray paint and some fabric and...

Here it is....in my bathroom.

One more step toward creating my shabby chic bathroom.

My Modge Podge Project

I have one of those bottles of Mod Podge but I affectionally call the stuff, "Modge Podge." Sounds more exotic, doesn't it?

I had bought this wood box awhile ago at Goodwill for a couple of dollars and I'm sure they wondered why I was so happy with my purchase.

I cut out coordinating scrapbook paper and Modge Podged it on.

Doesn't it look fantastic?
I'm sorting through all my buttons and wll be storing them here.
Even though I can't see them, it'll be taking less space on my table.

Mirror Mirror On The Wall

Let me introduce you to my bathroom. And also introduce you to Groucho, who loves to run ahead of me and jump on the counter and watch me get ready for work in the morning.

We've got the generic builder grade mirror. (oops, don't pay any attention to the towel hanging up - I forgot to pull it down.) I've seen the blogs where people trim out the mirror, but it seemed to be sort of expensive and definitely too much time not to mention, lack of skill.

At work, we have a public email folder that people can post things for sale. I've sold plenty in my time and found lots of bargains. A gal was selling this mirror, and even though it was really nice the way it was, a little spray paint would be a big change!

Look at the detail, very pretty and very HEAVY!

One can of cream spray paint and up it went! The bathroom is so bright now! We also put up a new light fixture and the room takes on a completely different feel.

I found this plaque at Goodwill awhile back. And I've got big plans for it this weekend and another spray paint project!

And the forecast for tonight into tomorrow, freezing drizzle and up to 6" snow.
Just want we need, more snow!
