Treats for Halloween

This week at work we are in the midst of United Way & there's something going on
everyday to raise money.
Yesterday, we had a bake sale and they requested the baked item somehow include M & M's
Making cookies with M & M's, seemed too predictable. So I decided to make a mixture of popcorn, candy corn, M & M's, peanuts, peanut butter chocolate chips and pretzels.

And I used this cute & free Halloween tag and staple it to each bag...

It smelled so good, doesn't the smell of popcorn just make you hungry?

Each bag was packed full, heck I wished I would've kept one for me.
Best thing about Halloween, has got to be the treats!

My Mom Cave

We've all heard of man caves, but what about a mom cave?

Centsational Girl is holding a  HomeGoods Mom Cave Contest and the
chance to win a  $250 giftcard to HomeGoods store.

Since my kids and grown and mostly not living at home, we were able to convert one of the
bedrooms into my office/scrapbook room aka Mom Cave.

I love my room and spend so much time in there, and I'd like to share it with you.

My table and shelving, right now I'm working on a banner for Thanksgiving.
I could really use a few decorative containers for storage.
HomeGoods has some pretty storage boxes.

I've got quite of few of those plastic stackables, I've separated the embellishments for
several holidays in each drawer.
It sure doesn't take much time to accumulate a lot of scrapbooking things.

My storage cubes are from Michaels and bulletin board was a picture I got at a yard sale and converted it to a bulleting board - lots of room to for more pictures!

I've just started to put up some of the free pictures available on several blogs.
It's so much fun to decorate the bulletin board for the holidays...

I got this shelf at Goodwill and painted it...this is still a work in progress..
perhaps I could find several things at Homegoods?!?

I've added this cute ladybug watering can, I got this at Goodwill for a couple of dollars...isn't it so cute?

My desk and computer sit directly across the room. Because this room is on the smaller side, it's hard to take a good picture.

Stop over to check out the other Mom Caves and think about showing your Mom Cave too!

Alpha Phi Recipe Scrapbook

For the past month, I've been working off and on a recipe scrapbook for Ashley's sorority in college, Alpha Phi and a fundraiser they are having next month.

Let me show you what the recipe booklet looks like that each girl gets when they graduate...

Really nothing special that makes a girl want to have this out a cookbook to refer too.

This is the cover, this was to be my starting point to make the scrapbook.
I think it would be really nice if they had the girls make a scrapbook of the recipes and all the fund raising they do each year.

I started with this basic scrapbook album.

And here's what the cover looks like now..after I took this picure I
noticed the glitter was a little off and got it fixed it up!
(Peanut M&M's are my staple!)

I used my Cricut and From My Kitchen cartridge.

It turned out alright, just sad that I'll never see it again..

Sunday Blog Love

I've been working on a scrapbook recipe album for Ashley's sorority fundraiser and it's become quite time consuming. Mostly consuming because I want it to be perfect and I'm only a beginner with scrapbooking.

Cherished Treasures”=

My Sunday Blog Love this week goes to a blog that has only posted
20 times and yet she has 725 followers..
Whoever said not to pay attention to numbers, this is one great blog!

It's Craftily Ever After and Jessica is a wiz with making different versions of the Keep Calm pictures...

This would be so fun to use for decorating, and she makes it free for all of us!

She also loves the lollipop flowers but she didn't buy material to make this flower, it's from a pair of jeans! Isn't it stunning?

Don't you love this banner? Simply, easy and inexpensive - my kind of project!

She's got several great printables for you, she's done all the work for us!

This chalkboard was updated, and of course, I love the flower but the scrapbook paper is so pretty.

I hope you stop over and take a look at Craftily Ever After.

Have a nice Sunday!

Shutters in the Bedroom

One of my favorite blogs is Funky Junky Interiors
Every weekend, she has a linky party, have you heard of it?

Funky Junk's Saturday Nite Special

Each weekend, you can join the party and show what you've been workingn on. This weekend, the themed project request is for shutters and so I'm reposting my bedroom how shutters were used in our makeover.

I bought these shutters at Goodwill, unfinished for a couple of dollars.
Add some spray paint, and it's a great addition to our bedroom.

We love our shutter headboard, I got six shutters off Craigslist.
The vinyl shutters were also spray painted.

If you'd like to see more, click here.

Stop over to check out more inspring projects and also how she's used shutters in her home.
Not only is she really nice, she's so talented and has great decorating style!!
